Business group gives high marks to Florida higher education

Florida’s higher education system received a better than average report card from a business group affiliated with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  A report released Wednesday by the Institute for a Competitive Workforce gives Florida an “A” in student access and success, an average mark for transparency and a low grade for openness to private providers. The study graded the university systems in all 50 states on 11 categories including innovation, meeting labor market demands and policy environment.  Using a four-point scale with an “A” representing a four, Florida’s grade-point average in the study worked out to a 2.8.

Florida’s College System gets an ‘A’ ranking on national report

A national report card by the Institute for a Competitive Workforce awarded Florida's College System an "A" based on student access and success, and efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The Florida rating was better than states including: California, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. Florida College System Chancellor Randy Hanna in a statement congratulated the 28 institutions in the state's college system and said he looks "forward to using this data to make continued progress and additional improvements for our students and the State of Florida."

When people yell “We’re number 1!” about a Florida university, usually they’ve got a foam finger on their hand. But a new national study from the Institute for a Competitive Workforce on university and college performance and policy is giving state higher ed leaders a new reason to crow.

Florida’s college system receives high marks on national report

The Florida College System is leading the way in preparing students to join the labor force according to a national report card released Wednesday by the Institute for a Competitive Workforce. The report awarded Florida’s College System with an “A” grade in the categories of Student Access & Success, and Efficiency & Cost-Effectiveness. Florida’s grade in these groupings bettered states across the nation including California, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas.

Florida colleges receive an A for success and efficiency

The Florida College System, which consists of 76 institutions, received an "A" for student access and success from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for a Competitive Workforce. Florida's grade in these categories surpassed those of California, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas.

Mixed grades for Florida's higher-education system

That's according to a new national study out by the US Chamber of Commerce. Florida Gets 'A' for Student Access and Success in Higher Education

Florida was the only state that received an 'A' grade for access and success for both it's two and four-year higher education institutions. That's  according to a report card released Tuesday. The report card is done by the Institute for a Competitive Workforce which is affiliated with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. It measures performance and policies of universities and colleges from across the country.
